Rookwood School is a non-selective independent day and boarding school for children aged 3 to 16, located on a rural campus off Weyhill Road in Andover, Hampshire, England.[2] Due to its proximity to Tidworth Camp, Wiltshire, a substantial number of its pupils are children of military personnel or MoD employees.[3]

History

The school was founded in 1934 as a girls' school and moved to its current site in 1946. Boys were admitted in 1997.[3]

Organisation

The school has three departments: the Rookery (Pre-School and Pre-Preparatory), Paddocks (Prep School) and Highfield (Senior School).

Academics

Rookwood does not have a sixth form. Students who have left the school are known as 'Old Rooks'.

Boarding

Although most of its pupils are day pupils Rookwood has boarding provisions for a small number of boarders. There are two boarding houses: Beechwood (girls) and Oakwood (boys).[4]
