The 1998-99 NBA season was the Kings' 50th season in the NBA and 14th in Sacramento.[1] With the addition of Chris Webber, Vlade Divac and first round draft pick Jason Williams, the Kings finished third in the Pacific Division with a 27-23 record, their first winning season in 16 years. In the first round of the playoffs, the Kings got off to a good start, taking a 2-1 lead over #3 seed Utah Jazz. However, the Jazz won Game 4 by one point to even the series and force a decisive fifth game. The Kings lost Game 5 in overtime 99-92.
