Southern Theater Command is one of the five war zones of People's Liberation Army, was founded in February 1, 2016, its predecessor is the Guangzhou Military Region.
Its jurisdiction includes Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Hainan and the South China Sea fleet.[original research?][citation needed]
Its commander is Gen. Wang Jiaocheng and political commissar is Lt. Gen. Wei Liang.
