Señora Acero (English title: Woman of Steel[2]) is an American telenovela produced by Telemundo and distributed by Telemundo Television Studios and Argos Comunicación, starring Blanca Soto as the "Señora Acero".
On January 13, 2015, it was confirmed that the series would have a second season; the production for the second season began in May 2015.[3]

Background
The telenovela might have starred Sandra Echeverría,[4] but, Blanca Soto was selected for the role of protagonist. The title of the telenovela was first "Mujer de Acero", then later was changed to "Señora Acero".[5][6]
Blanca Soto departed from the series after season two and Carolina Miranda would replace Soto as the main protagonist in season three.[7]

Season 1 (2014–15)
Señora Acero tells the story of a woman, Sara, who was happily married to commander Vicente Acero, with whom she had a young son. On the day of Sara and Vicente's wedding, a group of hit men tried to kill Vicente; however they failed but ended up killing Sara's father. Later, the cartel killed her husband believing he stole 3 million dollars. Sara had to escape to Guadalajara to save her son. Later she discovers that her husband did steal these 3 million dollars. When she tried to get the money, the cartel took it from her. She returned to Guadalajara where she met another PGR agent.[11]
Season 2 (2015–16)

After being in prison for five years, Sara hoped to go free for lack of evidence. However, the President of the Republic, at the request of his private secretary and sister Berta Aguilar, makes that Sara be condemned to 25 years in prison. The hatred of a resentful sister, the political ambitions of a corrupt president, and another bad move of fate sink the Lady of Steel into a deep depression. Once again it is up say goodbye to her son Salvador and her great love, Manuel Caicedo.
Season 3: La Coyote (2016)

The story of Mexican immigrants and their struggle to achieve the American dream and avoid being detained by the immigration department or by drug gangs borders that sequester for use as slaves in the production and distribution of drugs.[7]
