Line 17 is an east-west subway line on Shanghai Metro. It is under construction and is planned to open in 2017. It connects Hongqiao Railway Station in central Shanghai to the Oriental Land Park in the western suburb of Qingpu. It will be 35.2 km long with 11 stations, and will interchange with Lines 2 and 10. [1]
During the line's planning stages, it was initially treated as a western extension of Line 2, and briefly took the designation of Line 20 before being officially renamed to its current number.
