Helicopter dynamics is a field within aerospace engineering concerned with theoretical and practical aspects of helicopter flight. Its purpose is the knowledge of forces and torques which appear in helicopter flight.

History

The development of helicopter dynamics arose from the necessity to improve first helicopters. Measuring dynamics of helicopter rotors is very challenging due to wiring and data transmission problems. Researchers have recently used stereophotogrammetry to measure dynamics of a helicopter rotor during hover [1]
