Durgapur subdivision is a subdivision of the Bardhaman district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Durgapur municipal corporation and five community development blocs: Durgapur–Faridpur, Galsi–I, Kanksa, Andal and Pandabeswar. The five blocks contain 36 gram panchayats and 30 census towns. The subdivision has its headquarters at Durgapur.

Area
Apart from the Durgapur municipal corporation, the subdivision contains 30 census towns and rural areas of 36 gram panchayats under five community development blocs: Durgapur–Faridpur, Galsi–I, Kanksa, Andal and Pandabeswar.[1] The 30 census towns are: Sarpi, Mandarbani, Sirsha, Sukdal, Prayagpur, Debipur, Kanksa, Mahira, Kajora, Harishpur, Palashban, Dignala, Andal, Baska, Siduli, Khandra, Ukhra, Dhandadihi, Kendra Khottamdi, Ramnagar, Dalurband, Bilpahari, Nabgram, Sankarpur, Haripur, Konardihi, Bahula, Chhora, Chak Bankola and Parashkol.[2]
Blocks
Durgapur–Faridpur block
Rural area under Durgapur–Faridpur block consists of six gram panchayats, viz. Gaurbazar, Ichhapur, Laudoha, Gogla, Jemua and Pratappur.[1] Urban area under this block comprises three census towns: Sarpi, Mandarbani [Amlouka(Near-Durgapur Artro-police) and Sirsha.[2] Faridpur and New Township police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Loudaha.[4]
Galsi–I block
Rural area under Galsi–I block consists of nine gram panchayats, viz. Budbud, Loapur Krishnarampur, Paraj, Uchchagram, Chaktentul, Potna–Pursa, Loa Ramgopalpur, Mankar and Serorai .[1] Urban area under this block comprises one census town: Sukdal.[2] Bud Bud and Galsi police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Bud Bud.[4]
Kanksa block
Rural area under Kanksa block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Amlajora, Bidbehar, Kanksa, Trilokchandrapur, Bankati, Gopalpur and Molandighi.[1] Urban area under this block comprises three census towns: Prayagpur, Debipur and Kanksa.[2] Kanksa police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Izzatganj and Panagarh Bazar.[4]
Andal block
Rural area under Andal block consists of eight gram panchayats, viz. Andal, Kajora, Madanpur, Sreerampur, Dakshinkhanda, Khandara, Ramprasadpur and Ukhra.[1] Urban area under this block comprises eleven census towns: Mahira, Kajora, Harishpur, Palashban, Dignala, Andal, Baska, Siduli, Khandra, Ukhra and Dhandadihi.[2] The census towns Chak Bankola and Parashkol are both partly in Andal block and partly in Pandabeswar block.[2] Andal and Durgapur police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Andal More and Andal.[4]
Pandabeswar block
Rural area under Pandabeswar block consists of six gram panchayats, viz. Baidyanathpur, Chhora, Kendra, Behula, Haripur and Nabagram.[1] Urban area under this block comprises ten census towns: Kendra Khottamdi, Ramnagar, Dalurband, Bilpahari, Nabgram, Sankarpur, Haripur, Konardihi, Bahula and Chhora.[2] The census towns Chak Bankola and Parashkol are both partly in Andal block and partly in Pandabeswar block.[2] Andal and Pandbeswar police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Pandabeswar.[4]
Legislative segments
As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies in West Bengal:[5]
- The municipal corporation area of Durgapur is covered by two assembly constituencies of West Bengal. The wards numbered 11–22 and 29–43 will form the Durgapur Paschim assembly constituency.
- The wards numbered 1–10 and 23–28 will be part of the Durgapur Purba assembly constituency, which will also contain the gram panchayats of Amlajora, Gopalpur and Molandighi under the Kanksa block.
- The other four gram panchayats under the Kanksa block along with the area under the Galsi–I block will be part of the Galsi assembly constituency.
- The Pandabeswar block, and the Durgapur–Faridpur block will together form the area under the Pandabeswar assembly constituency.
- The area under the Andal block will be part of the Raniganj assembly constituency.
- The Galsi constituency will be reserved for Scheduled castes (SC) candidates.
- The constituencies of Durgapur Purba, Durgapur Paschim and Galsi will be assembly segments of the Bardhaman-Durgapur (Lok Sabha constituency).
- The constituencies of Pandabeswar and Raniganj will be assembly segments under the Asansol (Lok Sabha constituency).
