The Conocchia is the main monument of the country. It is a funerary monument that stands imposing and majestic on the route of the Via Appia, the popular name derives from the shape that recalls the distaff (or molten), object used to spin.According to tradition there was also buried Flavia Domitilla, niece of Vespasian, the Roman matron, because Christian persecution by Domitian. The Conocchia can be said of the most significant monuments that have come down to us retaining "almost all" their plastic character, since the major renovations made to the time of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, and later still preserved the crumbling structures but have altered some particular aspect of the original. And along the Via Appia, still in the Curti, at the time of ancient Capua there was "Square Seplasia" with artisans who prepared fragrant ointments and cosmetics for women Capuan.
