Volodymyr Zinoviyovych Parasyuk (Ukrainian: Володи́мир Зіно́війович Парасю́к, born 9 July 1987 in Maidan village, Zhovkva Raion)[2] is a Ukrainian public figure. He took part in the Euromaidan protests, where he was a sotnik (commander) of a group of defender of the Maidan (a sotnia) and became famous for his speech of 2014 February 21st when he issued a ultimatum to Yanukovich.
Later, he fought in the war in Donbass as a member of the Dnipro Battalion.,[2][3][4][5] where he was taken prisoner by the Donetsk People's Republic forces during the battle of Ilovaisk. He was later released with other Ukrainian prisoners of war.
He was elected to the Verkhovna Rada during the 2014 Ukrainian parliamentary election.[6] Parasyuk as an independent candidate won a parliamentary seat by winning the electoral district of Yavoriv with 56.56% of the votes.[2][7] In parliament he joined the inter-factional group Ukrop.[8]
