Voiceprint Records[1] is a company and record label based in England, founded in 1990[2] by Rob Ayling.[2] They specialise in re-releasing old material, especially progressive rock, but also have new releases, under the Voiceprint and other imprints.
The holding company, Zeit Distribution Ltd., went into insolvency in 2010.[3][4] It was replaced by the phoenix company, Gonzo Multimedia.
Labels
Voiceprint operates a number of record labels,[5] including some for a single band or set of related artists. Major Voiceprint labels include Blueprint,[6] All Saints and Resurgence.
Artists
The first release on Voiceprint was a Daevid Allen album, The Australian Years.[2] Among the many other artists whose recordings have been released by the company are Leonard Cohen,[7] The Fall (whose Cog Sinister label was acquired by Voiceprint in 1997),[8] Fish,[2] Gong,[9] Hawkwind,[9] Steve Hillage,[9] Patrick Moraz,[10] Anthony Phillips,[11] Theo Travis, Rick Wakeman,[9] and Yes.[9]
The company also releases classical music and related documentaries.[12]
