Violaines is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France.

Geography
An ex-coalmining region, Violaines is situated some 7 miles (11.3 km) east of Béthune and 17 miles (27.4 km) southwest of Lille, at the junction of the D167 and D947 roads.
