Unpretty Rapstar (Hangul언프리티 랩스타) is a 2015 South Korean music competition program focusing on female rappers. The show, a spin-off of Show Me the Money, premiered in January 2015 on Mnet and was hosted by Korean rapper San E.[1] In August 2015, it was confirmed that the show would begin airing its second season on September 11, 2015.[2][3]

Competition events

Self-introduction through a cypher

An ice-breaker where all contestants and the host starts off a tune and rap on his own self-introduction and first battle cry. In this contest, the beat is the same for everybody. Pre-game diss battle, or responses to diss-rap pre-competitions are allowed.

Track Missions and Multi-part Team Battles

All contestants will collaborate with judges, producers and fellow contestants to make MV's for an original rap song, mostly done needing one perfectly unedited take, they must also write and arrange the song. Also, they must organize who the main rapper is (8 bars), while others have 4 bars. It alters in each mission. The result of peer-review voting process for best and worst rappers are fully disclosed, anyone who voted themselves in either category will nullify the vote. The winner of the mission can receive an advantage for the next challenge or the next part of the track missions, from picking between two soundtracks, to excluding more members from advancing in the event. Some missions is performed in a live audience. In the final part of Team Battles would have the chosen competitors from each team gain the credit to rap alongside the guest judges for the tracks.
