This is a list of United States Ambassadors to Trinidad and Tobago. The United States Embassy is located in Trinidad and Tobago's capital, Port of Spain, and was established there on August 31, 1962.
Status
The position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary is currently vacant as of 2015. President Barack Obama nominated John L. Estrada, the 15th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps and a native of Trinidad and Tobago, for the role on July 30, 2013.[1] The United States Senate did not act upon the nomination. Obama renominated Estrada on January 6, 2014.[2]
Margaret Diop has served as Chargé d'Affaires ad interim since Beatrice Wilkinson Welters left her post in October 2012.
