The UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is an academic department of the Faculty of Population Health Sciences of University College London (UCL) and is located in London, United Kingdom. It was founded in 1964 by David Morley as the Tropical Child Health Unit.[1] Originally a unit within the UCL Institute of Child Health, IGH became independent in August 2013 with Professor Anthony Costello as director.

IGH is a world-leading centre of research and teaching excellence in global health offering a Masters in Global Health and an intercalated BSc programme. IGH is at the centre of the UCL Grand Challenge of Global Health bringing together UCL’s immense multidisciplinary wealth of intellectual capital and international collaborations to provide innovative, workable solutions to global health and hosts the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases.
