Anthony Terlazzo (July 28, 1911 - March 26, 1966) was an American weightlifter and Olympic champion. He was also America's first World weightlifting champion and was the first individual to win a Gold Medal in weightlifting at the Olympics.[1]

Career

He won a gold medal at the 1936 Summer Olympics in the featherweight (60 kg) class in Berlin, Germany.[1][2] He received a bronze medal in 1932. While training and during the process, Terlazzo set a new Olympic record total with 312.5 (687.5 lbs). He also snatched 97.5 (214.5 lbs) over his head which was also a new Olympic record in his weight class.[1]
