In 2007 Manco moved to the West Sydney Ice Dogs (now Sydney Ice Dogs) where he played 23 games, scoring two goals and recording three assists in his first season.[1] In 2012 season Manco was named as one of the teams alternate captains.[2] In January 2014 the Ice Dogs announced that Manco along with Scott Stephenson would not be returning for the 2014 season.[3]

On 5 February 2015, CBR Brave announced the signing of Manco and former teammate David Dunwoodie from the Sydney Ice Dogs for the 2015 AIHL season.[4] The Aussie pair will add depth to the Brave roster and are regarded as very good signings.[5]

25 April 2015, Tomas made his return to the AIHL and debut for the CBR Brave in the opening round clash of the 2015 AIHL season in Canberra when the CBR Brave took on Tomas' former club the Sydney Bears. The Brave ran out 4-2 winners over the Bears in front of a packed Brave Cave.[6]

International career

During 2008, Manco was a member of the New South Wales State team in the Brown grade (23 & under) for which he has played four games, and scoring two points.[1]

Manco was first called up to represent Australia in 2005 where he joined the national under-18 team to play at the 2005 IIHF World U18 Championships.[7] The following year Manco was again selected for the under-18 team to play at the World Championships and was also selected to play in the national under-20 team at the 2006 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.[8][9] In 2007 Manco joined the national senior team to play at the 2007 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships.[10] He has since represented Australia at the Ice Hockey World Championships on four other occasions.[2]

Manco was born on 19 January 1988 in Brezno, Slovakia to Ivan and Renata Manco.[2] In 2000 Manco and his family moved to Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. His brother, Lukas, also plays in the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) for the Sydney Bears. His father is an official for the AIHL while his mother plays ice hockey for the Norwest Emperors in the New South Wales Women's League.[11] After leaving the Ice Dogs in 2014 Manco was appointed Junior Development Officer by Ice Hockey NSW.[12]
