Rafael Tobías Hernández Alvarado (born August 24, 1953), commonly known as "Toby Hernández", is a former Major League Baseball catcher and right-handed batter who played for the Toronto Blue Jays in 1984.
A native from Calabozo, Guárico State, Venezuela), Hernández was a top catching prospect in the Jays organization, but after a long history of injuries he was able to reach the majors just at 31.
In his brief stint with Toronto, Hernández hit .500 hitter (1-for2) with one run in three games.
