Thomas Sylvester Howard (born December 11, 1964) is a former outfielder in Major League Baseball. He attended Ball State University where he played football and baseball. During his 11-year career (1990–2000) he played for the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and St. Louis Cardinals. On April 11, 2000 he hit the first grand slam at Minute Maid Park.
He graduated in 1983 from Valley View High School in Germantown, Ohio. There he also excelled as quarterback of the South Western Buckeye League champion football team and as a power forward on the league champion basketball team.
