The Sounds of India is a 1968 LP album by Hindustani classical musician Ravi Shankar. It was digitally remastered and released in CD format by Columbia Records in 1989. AllMusic reviewer Adam Greenberg recommended listening to the album for "Shankar's amazing abilities" but singled out the album for its historic value as a work that introduced Western listeners to Hindustani classical music using short lessons before each performance.[1]
