Dame Susan Gwynfa Mary Glazebrook, DNZM (born 8 February 1956), is a judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.
Glazebrook has an MA (1st Class Hons), an LLB (Hons) and a DipBus (Finance) from the University of Auckland and a DPhil from the University of Oxford in French legal history.[1] Before being appointed to the High Court in May 2000 she was a partner in law firm Simpson Grierson[1] and a member of various commercial Boards and government advisory committees. She was Research Assistant to the late historian Sir Keith Sinclair.
She served as President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association,[2] the leading organisation for commercial lawyers in the Asia Pacific region in 1998.
Glazebrook was appointed a judge of the High Court of New Zealand on 14 December 2000, having served until that time as temporary judge of that court.[3] She was appointed to the Court of Appeal on 24 May 2002.[4]
On 6 August 2012 she was appointed to the Supreme Court.[5]
In the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours, Glazebrook was appointed a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the judiciary.[6]
