He was the founder and first header of Man of Korea, a men's rights group advocating the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, whose Korean name (여성부; 女性部) literally translates as "Ministry of Women", and compensation demand of the South Korean military time's all sorts of limit.[1] He also argued for anti-feminism, free love, sexual liberation and male liberation.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Sung led the South Korean anti-feminist movement, in opposition to the movement for female-preferential policies of South Korea. In his early adulthood he was a businessman. In October 1999 he participated in the movement against abolition of preferential treatment to discharged soldiers in South Korea. He also opposed the abolition of the Hoju system. He later participated in male human rights activities. In 2008 he founded Man of Korea, serving as its first chairman from 2008 until his death in 2013. His business activities included a night club and Thomas Mcfly Consulting & Headhunting Company.
Beginning in 1999 and continuing until his death, he argued for the restoration of the Korean Army bonus points system. In the 2010s he was also an activist for the abolition of women-only facilities.(여성 전용 시설).[2] After 2011, he offered assistance and counseling to battered husbands and house husbands, teenage runaways, male and child victims of violent crimes. Early life
Childhood
Sung Jae-gi was born in Daegu on September 11, 1967. his father was a rich man and his one uncle was a veteran policeman of Daegu. In his early years, he got stuck with masculinity and macho.[5] For that reason, he had hostility and repulsion to masculinity, macho. In adolescence he had conviction to men's liberation.
I was so grown, but nowadays teenage and 20, 30s young men are not like that. They tell another if it hurts, "I am sick", tell another if they're tired, "I am tired".[5]
In adolescence, he had backlash and hate to patriarchal system and macho behavior, consciousness of authority. Also Sung would agonize and have complaints, South Korean society treats cruelly for only male. He studied at Daegu High School and in 1985 studied economics at Yeungnam University,[6] where he graduated in February 1993.
Adolescence
In 1987 Sung joined the South Korean Army and served with the 3rd infantry division (육군 제3보병사단 陸軍第三步兵師團) in Cheolwon (Gangwon Province)[5] until 1990.
He spent his early twenties working as a salesman for an insurance company. At one time he managed a small business for himself.[7] In 2006 he operated a night club in Daegu.[8] From August 26, 2000, to November 30, 2006, Sung worked with Thomas Mcfly Consulting & Headhunting Company (토마스 맥플라이 컨설팅 & 헤드헌팅사) in Estern District (Daegu). In 2006, he resigned from the company to continue his human rights campaigns.
In the early 2000s, Sung joined the growing South Korean men's rights movement, campaigning for various causes. On November 26, 2006, he founded the Association of Anti-Feminism for the Liberation of Men (Korean: 반페미니즘남성해방연대), and on January 4, 2007, he founded the Association for the Abolition of the Ministry of Women (Korean: 여성부폐지운동본부, 女性部廢止運動本部). In 2013 both groups had several thousand members.[9] He gained some fame from his appeals to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in the 2002 and 2007 presidential elections, questioning the reason for the ministry's existence.[10] After the 2000s, Sung emphasized personal values, individual rights and the right to privacy in his public lectures. He repeatedly stated that personal values are God-given rights. Later he led a campaign to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality.[11]
In August 1994, Sung married Park Eun-kyong. Park is an internist and professor of the College of Medicine at Chung-ang University. They have two daughters.
Criticism of rigorism and pornography control policy
In 1999, Sung opposed abolishing the Korean Military bonus points system (군 가산점;軍 加算點),[12] military veterans' compensation, and supported abolition of the South Korean female quota(여성 할당제;女性割當制) and South Korean Female employment quota system(여성고용할당제;女性雇傭割當制). From 2004 to January 2005 he opposed the abolition of the Hoju system (호주제 戶主制), but was unsuccessful. Afterwards he advocated the "resurrection of the South Korean Military bonus points system" and the "abolition of female quota" until his death.
Sung rallied against what he saw as female chauvinism and Korean totalitarianism. He argued against reverse discrimination, stated "Men are humans", objected to unilateral obligations and responsibilities imposed on Korean men, and pushed for men's liberation. Sung argued that strict attention fostered a sturdy society. He once said:
The oppressive measures on pornography by the Korean government are totally insane...It is actually seen that it oppresses masculinity and that it distorts the essentials. It is all done by the Ministry of Gender Equality and women’s organizations led by Korean feminists.[13]
Sung argued that a few female chauvinists and their totalitarianism had excessively suppressed male sexuality, the arts, pop culture, freedom of expression, and freedom of thought. Comparing the South Korean government's policies to US Prohibition, Sung said that restricting pornography was bound to lead to undesirable side effects, as well as effectively labeling normal men as sex criminals. He encouraged self-examination to overcome Puritanism. Sung stated:
You will understand easily if you know a bit about men’s sexual mechanism. Pornography itself can ease and satisfy men’s sexual impulses.[13]
For a long time Sung was repeatedly criticized, male control policy on the utilization of sexual desire, as making a serious mistake.
Sung claimed that South Korean policy was excessive moralism and overprotection of women by some South Korean politicians, that their plan was too unrealistic, and that it was a means of concealing some politicians' incompetence. Sung rallied against Korean politicians' incompetence and opportunistic behavior.
Movement to protect military bonus points system
From August 1999 to 2001, he advocated the protection of the Korean Military bonus points system. He was later to hear to tidings for Military bonus points repealed activity and Military bonus points unconstitutional litigation. Sung promoted the campaign opposing the abolition of military bonus points, with a small number of personnel sympathizers. But in October 2001, the Korean Military bonus points system was found unconstitutional and repealed. Afterwards Sung carried forward a reconstruction movement of the Korean Military bonus points system.
What is my duty? Do you know why 'Man of Korea' started? Because in 1999 military bonus points were abolished! Because of the excuse of 'Gender equality' for a menace of 'national security'.[14]
For a long time afterwards Sung stressed "resuscitation of military bonus points".[15]" In 2011 he restarted a reconstruction movement for the Korean Military bonus points system.[16] He participated in the civil rights movement and masculism activity.[17] He also led a male liberation movement. <templatestyles src="Template:Blockquote/styles.css" />
Who are those crazy beings who oppose the protection of children and teens against sex crimes? Of course our priority is to protect kids and teens against sexual offences. Have any of you watched porn before? Have you watched porn to masturbate? Yes or no? But let me ask you one thing: is your goal to protect children and teenager from sexual offences? or is it to suppress every man’s sexual desire and control his guilt?
Female exposure is not the cause of one’s sex drive, and is not the cause of sex offences, and yet animated porn becomes the cause of a man’s sex crimes? Please stop making such bullshit claims! I don’t know about other men, but isn’t this nonsense? I too watch porn!!! And you know why?[39]
Always Sung was emphasize, "because it's sobscene material! It's a means for a man to ease his sex drive, relieve himself, and excrete his load. so because porn amplifies a man’s sex drive, this makes him go outside, find a new victim and commit a new sex crime? please stop romanticising the whole thing![39]" Sung was press sb for obscene material is daily necessity of poor and fat, ugly males. also social understanding to underdog male's desires.

Dear citizens, ever since the mid 1980s when gender equality issues came into public awareness, our country has been focusing on overhauling laws, policies and social systems to improve women’s rights and status. We have our first female president. More women pass major government service exams than men. Female ROTCs command conscripted male soldiers. Women surpassed men in university entrance rates and youth employment rates years ago. Despite this, men are still seen as superior while women are seen are ‘socially weak’.
Dear citizens, While everyone else was speaking on behalf of women, Man of Korea started to speak for men. We began our group online in January, 2008, and launched a formal civic group in March, 2011. We have been treading a thorny path filled with mockery and ridicule. When we said excessive privileges for women should be distributed to men, too, we were called male chauvinists. When we said men and women should share equal expenses and we should create an environment where men can also be house husbands, we were called losers. In this country, where discussing male rights is considered to be cheap gossip for losers and you have to discuss national politics to be taken seriously, Man of Korea has been marginalized.
We would like to say that men can also be weak. We wanted to point out that if the gender you were born with determines your rights, privileges and duties, we will never achieve equality. We wanted to say that it is important to create a society where men and women stand on an equal footing and can understand and respect each other. We wanted to talk about equality of every human beyond gender equality.[57]— his suicide note
On July 26, 2013, Sung was move to taxi from Yeongdeungpo to Mapo, with Han Seung-oh, Lee Ji-hun other five peoples. other with Sung was premobilization of two lifeguard. Investigators said the corpse was discovered under the southern part of Seogang Bridge connecting Yeouido to northern Seoul. They said that Sung was barefooted, but that his white shirt and dark gray pants were the same as what he was wearing when jumping into the Han river.[60] his funeral was organized to Han Seung-oh and Kim In-seok, Lee Ji-hun,[61] Son Seung-min, Byon Hee-jae and others. On August 1, 2013, his body was cremated and buried in the Gyongsan Park Cemetery(경산 공원 묘원) crypt Namchon town(남천면) in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang.[62]

Since his funeral last week, the Internet has been overflowing with commentary attempting to elevate Sung to the status of martyrdom. He has been compared to Jeon Tae-il, the 22-year-old factory worker who died in 1970 after setting himself on fire to protest against the inhumane working conditions of those times.[63] Sung's supporters are also twisting logic to blame his death on the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, which was the windmill to Sung's Don Quixote. Online message boards are bombarded with calls for the Park Geun-hye government to abolish the ministry, despite all indicators showing that this country has the harshest gender apartheid among rich nations.[63]
known for his relentless promotion of men’s rights, claiming that men can also be a minority in South Korean society. He is notorious for publicly blurting out disparaging remarks toward women and had worked to discontinue menstruation leave and other benefits for working women.[64] Many argued that Sung’s tireless work to support the rights of men was misplaced, given that South Korea is an already male-dominant society.[64] his own investigation only 9.1 percent, or 272 out of 2,993 executive jobs in government departments and public firms are occupied by women, according to a January report by Alio, a website compiling management information of the public sector. Over half of the corresponding organizations had no female board members.[64]
Controversy
Controversial of notice suicide
On July 24, Sung posted on his organisation's website and tweeted the following message: "Tomorrow I will jump from the Han River". He went on to list his successor for Man of Korea in case he didn't survive.[65] he was pointed out of Han Seung-oh, Successor of himself.[66] July 26, His Twitter account also sent out a photo with the words: "I know this act is shameful. I'm sorry. I'll reflect on this for the rest of my life". The photo was later deleted, but screenshots were widely circulated.[65]
The publicity surrounding Sung's suicide has been controversial, due to stance his organizations took on men's rights and gender equality. It was reported that Sung planned the jump in advance as a media stunt to spread awareness about and raise funds for the Man of Korea.[65] Another person tweeted a close-up photo of a KBS camera and wrote: "It's true then that KBS was the one who filmed Sung Jae-gi's jump. While it seems KBS' behaviour and press ethics will be considerably debated, what about the issue of the president stepping down".[65]
Assisted suicide controversy
Sung's suicied stirred a huge debate over aiding and abetting suicide.[60] One day before making what was apparently intended to be a mock suicide attempt, he posted a message on his Twitter account, forewarning that he planned to jump from one of the 24 bridges on the Han River.[60] Jumping before Sung with Han Seung-oh and two reporters was salvageable, so he was go with five peoples.[clarification needed] but they was nothing save for him.[clarification needed]
Police questioned two of Sung's colleagues, who were at the scene and took pictures of him jumping, about whether they abetted his attempted suicide which appears to have been successful.[60] The two insisted that he had no intention of killing himself and just wanted to draw public attention to boost men's rights and raise funds for his group.[60]
A domestic broadcaster KBS TV, whose cameraman was at the scene filming his attempt, was also criticized for allegedly abetting the suicide which is unethical.[11] In reaction, KBS said the cameraman reported the incident to the police before and after the his jumped.[11]
demagogy suspicion
Sung's one of death cause for demagogy suspicion. His two colleagues at the scene have been questioned about whether they abetted his jump. But they said that he had no intent on killing himself, claiming that it was just a stunt to draw public attention to raise funds for his men's rights group.[11] police investigated three members of the civic group at the scene and said they can be charged with abetting Sung's suicide.[11]
during the questioning, the colleagues told the police that they could not stop him "as Sung stubbornly insisted he is good at swimming and will be okay.[11]" Han Seung-oh, an official of the group at the scene, said Sung's jump was part of a "risky stunt" to raise the 100-million won fund for settling the group's financial difficulties and had no intention of suicide.[11] Han and Lee Ji-hun argue to his death was not suicide and his death was unintentionals.
One netizen wrote: "I will gladly send some condolence money before your altar," or "You'll be an idiot if you can't keep your words.[67]"
In reaction, Sung said: "I know this is childish. But, I will do it for a greater cause." His last Twitter post, with a photo of him falling into the river, reads: "Sorry for my folly. I'll repent for the last of my life.[67]" In July 25, 2013, Sung Jae-gi was declaration to nothing instigation. Sung was said to "a performance to raise public attention on reverse discrimination against men.[67]" also "We are very sorry for causing such a fuss. But his jump was not a suicide but a stunt to draw public attention," Han Seung-oh's said.[11]
