Stephanie Coker (born Stephanie Omowunmi Eniafe Coker; 28 November 1989),[1][2][3] is a Nigerian on-air personality and a television presenter for MTV Base Africa and Ebony Life TV[2][4] She also featured as 'Feke' in the popular Nigerian TV Series Tinsel (TV series).[5]

Early life

Coker was born in Lagos, Nigeria, but moved to North London, in the UK at the age of 1.[2][6] She attended St Mary’s Church of England Primary school in North London, a place she described as "a really small school where Christianity was taken very seriously".[4][7] She later graduated from Brunel University with a degree in Media and Communications.[1][6][8][9]

While at Brunel, she interned at MTV, Channel Four and Media Moguls PR.[7][10]

Career

London

In the year 2010, Stephanie won the MTV Freederm Presenter Competition, which saw her face shown all over the City of London in a TV Advert.[6][11]

That same year (2010), she was commissioned by OHTV, (UK) for her documentary work on young Nigerians called "Christmas in Lagos".

In 2011, London 360, a Community Channel (UK), magazine-style news show, offered her a role as a presenter.[7]

Nigeria

Stephanie Coker moved back to Nigeria in 2011 [7][8] and got her first job with MTV Base Africa as an anchor of the countdown show "Street Request".[4]

Since then, she has worked on various projects and shows such as Cool FMs Midday Oasis Show, MTVs Big Friday Show (with Basketmouth), Tinsel on Africa Magic.[12]

In 2013, alongside Bovi and Pearl, she co-hosted a star-studded Guinness Colourful World of more concert, an event earlier scheduled to be anchored by Bow Wow.[13][14]

In 2015, she was featured on the cover page of the Exqusite Magazine's "Love Edition".[15][16][17]

2016 Presently the Co - Host for The Voice Nigeria.[18]

Radio Talk Show

On Friday, the 6th of December, 2013, Baileys Nigeria unveiled the duo of Stephanie Coker and Veronica Ebie-Odeka as the hosts of the newly established radio show: Baileys Boutique. The show was aimed at showcasing the "latest information on fashion, lifestyle and everything women want to talk about"[19][20][21]

Awards and Nominations

In 2014, Stephanie Coker was nominated for and later won the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY)'s TV Presenter of the Year.[22][23]

She was also nominated for the 2014 Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) as the Nigerian Broadcaster of the year. The award was later won by Helen Paul.[24][25]

Personal Relationship

In 2014, Stephanie Coker featured in Lynxxx's music video,My Place, which led to the speculation that the two were dating. She later cleared the air in an interview with City People that the relationship between her and Lynxxx was purely professional. In the same interview, she picked Banky W as her dream crush.[26][27][28][29]
