St. John's Lough (Irish: Loch Eoin),[4] also known as St. John's Lake, is a freshwater lake in the northwest of Ireland. It is located in south County Leitrim and is now part of the Shannon–Erne Waterway.

Geography

St. John's Lough is about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) west of Ballinamore.[3] It covers an area of 1.46 km2 (0.6 sq mi).[1]

Hydrology and natural history

St. John's Lough forms part of the Shannon–Erne Waterway, which was restored to its current navigable state in 1994. The lake is a pike fishing destination.[3]
