Sorgues is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.
It is also the name of a river running through the area. The Sorgues River is a tributary of the Rhone which begins at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.
Personalities
- According to The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein, Georges Braque lived in Sorgues after being wounded during the First World War.[1]
