Solaborate /ˈsōˈlabəˌrāte/ is a social and collaboration platform dedicated to technology professionals and companies to connect, collaborate, discover opportunities, and create an ecosystem around products and services. Solaborate is a combination of the words “social” and “collaboration”.[2] The site is available in English. Solaborate offers a detailed report of real-time insights, and has a Trending Tech News feature which is updated in real time and shows trending tech news from tech media and blogs worldwide, and other common social community features such as professional profiles, user groups, events, questions and answers. Solaborate main feature is Jobs and Opportunities which allows individuals or companies to hire experts from the tech industry. Registered users can collaborate in real time using chat, audio or video feature. Solaborate doesn't charge users for any of its services.

History

Solaborate's CEO Labinot Bytyqi, founded the company in 2012. Solaborate is headquartered in Los Angeles, California

  • In April 2013, Solaborate launched its private beta, and announced it has raised $1 million from angel investors.
  • In October 2013, at TechEd Las Vegas, Solaborate officially launched its public beta.

In 2013, Solaborate has been awarded the people's choice award at SAP's Palo Alto, during the 10th startup forum.[3]

Best in Show Award at WebRTC Conference and Expo

In 2013, Solaborate has received the “Best in Show” award at the WebRTC Conference and Expo hosted by TMC in Atlanta, Ga [4]

Technology

Solaborate is built in Microsoft Windows Azure Cloud Computing, using HTML5, WebSockets and WebRTC protocol for real time communication.[5] Solaborate runs on SAP HANA platform, to provide users with real-time information on their network.[6]

-In April 2014, Solaborate launched insights to provide measuring a profile's performance by aggregated anonymous statistics from likes, shares, comments, demographics, trends and more. Tech scores are implemented in user's profile and are based on three different components of a user profile — activity, sharing content, followers, and connections.[7]

-In October 2013, Solaborate released a mobile app for Android.[8]

-In September 2014, Solaborate launched Solaborate app for Windows 8.1. The app integrates most of the same features and capabilities as the web and it is supported in x86, x64 and ARMS processors.[9]

Solaborate Share Button

Share button makes it possible for people to share their website with Solaborate's audience, to drive traffic back to their site. By presenting users with a parameterized link, readers will be able to share links to their Solaborate news feed.[10]

WordPress Plugin

In July 2014, Solaborate has built a WordPress plugin to integrate it on WordPress blogs.[11]
