The sidewalk clock at 161-11 Jamaica Avenue in the Jamaica section of the borough of Queens in New York City is a historic cast iron sidewalk clock featuring a very unusual design incorporating a bell-cast shaped column base and an anthemion finial above the dial casing.[2]
The clock is located on the southwest corner of Jamaica Avenue and Union Hall Street. The corner is the site of a Chase Manhattan Bank Building which was previously the site of a former pre-colonial stone church that existed from 1699 to 1813, and was converted into a prison during the American Revolution.[3] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.[1]
