SevOne, Inc. is a venture funded digital infrastructure management software company. The SevOne Performance Appliance solution (SevOne PAS) provides network managers with monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance reporting capabilities. The company is based in Delaware and named after the slang for the “severity one” performance problems network managers face.[1]

The SevOne PAS includes different virtual and physical appliances each capable of monitoring 5,000 to 200,000 network elements and the SevOne Dedicated NetFlow Collector (Sevone DNC) that supports up to 1,000 NetFlow interfaces per appliance.

History

The company was founded in 2005 by computer scientists from the University of Delaware who also served as network architects at leading financial institutions. SevOne is funded and backed by a group of private investors and venture capitalists.[2]

In July 2007, venture capital firm Osage Ventures led a Series A Preferred placement in SevOne. In March, 2009, Osage led a second round of financing in SevOne along with several private investors.

In January 2013, SevOne announced a $150 million investment from Bain Capital.[3]

In April 2014, SevOne acquired log analytics provider, RapidEngines.[4]

In September 2015, SevOne announced a $50 million Series C financing round led by Westfield Capital Management and Bain Capital Ventures.[5]

Awards

TMC Communications Solutions awarded the SevOne PAS Product of the Year Awards in 2007, 2008, and 2010.[6][7][8] The SevOne Performance Appliance Solution was named as one of eWEEK's "Products to Watch" for 2009, awarded to the new hardware, software, or services that enterprise IT managers should have on their radar.[9]

In August 2010, SevOne was awarded "Most Innovative Architecture" by the Enterprise Management Associates in the EMA for Application-Aware Network Performance Management (ANPM) 2010. In the same report, SevOne was also ranked in the "Strong Value" category for being loaded with ANPM capabilities, ease of deployment and administration, and cost efficiency.[10]

In August 2011 SevOne was ranked #315 on the INC 500 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies.[11] and in 2012 SevOne was ranked #925 on the INC 5000 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies.[12]

SevOne also made the Deloitte Fast 500 list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2011 and ranked 30th.[13] In 2012, SevOne ranked 75th.[14]

In 2015, SevOne ranked #67 on the Forbes List of America's Most Promising Companies.[15]
