SS Hebble was a freight vessel built for the Goole Steam Shipping Company Limited in 1891.[1]
History
She was built by William Dobson and Company in Walker Yard for the Goole Steam Shipping Company Limited[2] and launched on 24 August 1891.
On 12 August 1908 she was damaged in a collision with the Yarmouth steamer Armourer in the River Humber.[3]
She was obtained by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in 1905.
She was requisitioned by the Admiralty in the First World War and struck a mine and sank in the North Sea 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km) east of Roker, County Durham (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.) with the loss of five of her crew.[4]
