Ricky Miller (born 13 March 1989) is a footballer who plays as a forward for Dover Athletic.

Career

After spells in the academy systems at Charlton Athletic[2] and Woking, Miller started his career in St Albans with Queens Head Sandridge before moving on to Stamford in September 2006. He made his debut as a last minute substitute in the club's 2–1 home defeat to Lincoln United in an FA Cup First Qualifying Round Replay on 19 September 2006.[3] He joined Leicestershire Senior League Division One side Cottesmore Amateurs on dual terms, scoring twice on his debut: a 6–4 defeat at Ashby Ivanhoe on 23 September 2006.[4] He then linked up with Bourne Town, again on a dual basis, making his debut in the club's 4–0 home United Counties League defeat to Boston Town on 18 October 2006.[5] He then agreed dual terms with Rothwell Town, spending the latter half of the season with the club and scoring his first senior hat-trick in the club's 3–0 Southern Football League Division One Midlands home victory over Bromsgrove Rovers on 6 March 2007.[6]

Although offered terms by Stamford for the 2007–08 season,[7] Miller instead chose to join Corby Town[8] reuniting him with his former Rothwell Town manager Alan Biley who had moved to act as Kevin Wilson's assistant at Corby. Miller re-joined Stamford early in the 2012–2013 season and scored 19 goals in 13 games before leaving in early January, only to return weeks later and score another 20 including twice in the play-off final victory.

After helping Stamford to promotion to the Evo-Stick Premier, Miller attracted the interest of Conference North side Boston United and signed a one-year contract with the club for the 2013–14 season. He went on to score 28 goals in 46 games but that wasn't enough to earn the Pilgrims a play-off spot as they narrowly missed out. He was awarded the Conference North Player of the Year trophy for his performances.

On 25 June 2014, Miller joined League Two side Luton Town on a one-year deal from Boston.[9] On 2 September 2014, he joined Conference Premier team Dover Athletic on loan[10] before being recalled just over a month later after scoring five goals in ten appearances.[11] Miller made his debut for Luton the following day in a 2–1 away victory over Hartlepool United.[12] He scored his first goal for the club in a 4–2 FA Cup victory over Newport County and followed this up with the winning goal in a 1–0 win against Tranmere Rovers. He made 15 appearances in all competitions for Luton during the 2014–15 season.

On 27 April 2015, Miller and team-mate Shaun Whalley were both arrested by Bedfordshire Police in connection with an alleged assault following Luton Town's end of season awards night. Both were released on bail, but were suspended by the club pending a police inquiry.[13] Miller was later released from his Luton contract early following his arrest.[14] On 3 June 2015, Miller was charged with five offences in connection to the assault.[15]

On 30 June 2015, Miller signed for Conference National side Dover Athletic on a two-year contract.[16]
