Richard G. Compton

Richard Guy Compton FRSC (born 10 March 1955[1]) is a physical chemist working at the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory at Oxford University in England. He is Physical Chemistry editor of the Oxford University Press' chemistry primer series, which has over a hundred titles to date (2006), and also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Professor Compton's research is primarily in the field of electrochemistry.

Professor Compton is a fellow at St John's College, Oxford where he tutors undergraduates, and is Tutor for Graduates.

He received the Royal Society of Chemistry's Sir George Stokes Award in 2011.[2]

Professor Compton is an editor in chief of the journal Electrochemistry Communications[3] (Impact factor: 4.8)
