Reyneke Island (Russian: Остров Рейнеке; Ostrov Reyneke) is an island in the Sea of Okhotsk located southeast of the Shantar Islands.[2]
Geography
Reyneke Island lies lies 45 km to the southeast of Menshikov Island. It is 7 km long and has a maximum width of 1.6 km. It is a mountainous island located close to a headland of the continental shore,[3] separated from it by a 5 km wide sound. This island was named after Mikhail Reyneke, Vice Admiral and hydrographer.[4]
Administratively this island belongs to the Khabarovsk Krai of the Russian Federation.[5]
