Reasons is the upcoming fifth studio album by American recording artist Omarion. It is set to be released in 2016 by Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album is supported by four singles, "I'm Up", "Sweet Anita", "I'm Sayin" and "I Ain't Even Done".
Background
On August 28, 2015, Omarion spoke about the album saying, "Reasons was birthed out of the success of "Post to Be". My history is no mystery. People know how long I've been in the entertainment biz. For me to have a song not only as big as "Posed To Be," but a song that is the biggest song of my career is kinda like, wow. A lot of people counted me out, a lot of people didn't understand that I'd get to this place, so Reasons is an answer to all of that".[1]
On September 9, Omarion spoke in an interview with Vibe. "I always would hear people say, "Omarion is underrated", or "Omarion doesn’t get the props he deserves", and I always thought that was interesting because I have had a certain level of success. It’s so interesting now because there are so many reasons why and that's why I named my album that. Five is the common denominator of this whole thing. I have fifteen songs on the album, three times five is fifteen. Three: that's me, my son, my lady. Five, fifteen, fifth installment—I'm just looking at numbers." He went on to say how his son is another reason of his motivation.[2]
Production
Omarion revealed that some of the producers from the album would be Nic Nac, Anderson Paak, Murder, Knxwledge and The Stereotypes, as well as artists Verse Simmonds, James Fauntleroy and more.[1][3]
Release and promotion
On June 8, 2015, it was announced by Chris Brown that Omarion will be a part of the "One Hell of a Nite" tour with Fetty Wap, Kid Ink, and Teyana Taylor.[4] The album was first planned to be released on October 23, 2015,[1] but Omarion postponed the album for 2016 to release Care Package 3, which was released November 12, 2015. The EP features eight songs was guest appearances from BJ the Chicago Kid, Problem, Kehlani and Rich Homie Quan.[5]
Singles
On June 18, 2015, the first single released for the album called "I'm Up" featuring rappers Kid Ink and French Montana. On August 26, 2015, the official music video was released.[6] On October 6, 2015, the second single, titled "Sweet Anita" was released.[7] On November 20, 2015, the third single, titled "I'm Sayin" featuring Rich Homie Quan. The song appeared on the Care Package 3 before it became a single.[8] On January 13, 2016, the fourth single, "I Ain't Even Done" featuring Ghostface Killah premiered on Beats 1.[9]
