Premios Max
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
Premios Max is the most important performing arts award in Spain, comparable with the Laurence Olivier Award in Great Britain, the Tony Award in the USA or the Molière Award in France.
History
In 1998 the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) decided to create the award. In the following years the award ceremony has taken place at various locations, like Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao, Valencia, Vigo, Zaragoza, Guadalajara, Gran Canaria and Córdoba.[1]
The winners will be chosen by colleagues in a process over two rounds in a secret ballot. The trophy in the shape of an apple with a mask was designed by the poet and artist Joan Brossa.[2][3] The award ceremony is always held in the spring.
