Prémio Leya

The Prémio Leya is a Portuguese literary award established in 2008 and awarded annually by the Portuguese book publishing company Leya to an unpublished Portuguese-language novel. The winner receives €100,000 making it one of the richest literary prizes in the world.
Winners
- 2008: In the first edition of the prize, the winner was Brazilian Murilo Antônio de Carvalho, for O Rastro do Jaguar.[1] The juri was presided by Manuel Alegre and included José Carlos Seabra Pereira and Nuno Júdice, from Portugal; Lourenço Rosário, from Mozambique; Pepetela, from Angola; and Rita Chaves and Carlos Heitor Cony, from Brazil.
- 2009: The Leya Prize was awarded to João Paulo Borges Coelho, a Mozambican historian and writer.
- 2010: Not assigned
- 2011: The Leya Prize was awarded to João Ricardo Pedro, from (Portugal), with the book O teu rosto será o último.
- 2012: Debaixo de algum céu, from Nuno Camarneiro (Portugal), was the winner. [2]
- 2013: Uma Outra Voz, from Gabriela Ruivo Trindade. [3]
- 2014: O Meu Irmão, from Afonso Reis Cabral.
