Cervecería y maltería Quilmes is an Argentine Brewery founded in 1888 in Quilmes, Buenos Aires Province, by Otto Bemberg, a German immigrant.
The company quickly started growing and in the 1920s it was already the most popular beer in Buenos Aires. Since then, it has become something of a national symbol, and has 75% of the beer market share in Argentina. It sponsors the Argentina national football team, and the colours of its labels are Argentina's light blue and white.
As of 2005, Quilmes has plants in Quilmes, Zárate, Tres Arroyos, Corrientes, Tucumán and Mendoza. It is also exported to Perú, Ecuador, Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, USA, Spain, Dominican Republic, France, UK, Italy, Australia and several other countries. It sells a yearly total of around 17 million hL of beer and 8 million hL of soft drinks and others.

As of 2004, Schincariol became the largest Brazilian owned brewery, gaining this title after Ambev (Brahma e Antarctica) merged with the Belgian Interbrew. There are eight Schincariol breweries around Brazil, being the headquarters situated at the city of Itu, state of São Paulo. The company produces about 2,5 billion litres of beer a year, and exports its products to the Mercosul, Europe, United States and Asia. By 2005, it had 14% of the beer market share in Brazil.

The Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus (Rothaus, State Brewery of Baden) is a brewery located 1000 m (3300 ft.) above sea level in the town of Rothaus in Germany's Black Forest, in the vicinity of Grafenhausen and the Schluchsee. It is one of the most successful and profitable regional breweries, and in the past decade has become well-known outside of Baden as well. The most successful product, a Pilsner-style beer, "Rothaus Tannenzäpfle" or simply "Zäpfle", comes filled in 33 cl. bottles.
The brewery was founded in 1791 by the Abbot of St. Blasien as a measure to encourage economic growth in the Black Forest. Through secularization, the cloister eventually changed ownership in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden. The name "Rothaus, State Brewery of Baden" has been in use since the abolition of the monarchy in 1918, and its name still remains to this day although the brewery is now in the full ownership of the Bundesland Baden-Württemberg.
The brand "Tannenzäpfle" is, as of 2006[update] celebrating its 50th year of existence with a fiftieth anniversary edition of the original 1956 label design.

The Privatbrauerei Erdinger Weißbräu Werner Brombach GmbH (also known as Erdinger Weißbräu) is a brewery in Erding, Germany. Its best-known products are its namesake Weißbiers, or wheat beers. It was founded in 1886 by Johann Kienle. The brewery did not receive its current name, however, until 1949 from its owner Franz Brombach, who had acquired the brewery 14 years earlier.
Erdinger calls itself the world's largest wheat beer brewery and it is widely available and popular across Germany and the European Union. It was founded in 1886 by Johann Kienle, and its beer is the best-known culinary product of the city. The brewery did not receive its current name, however, until 1949 from its owner Franz Brombach, who had acquired the brewery 14 years earlier. The current owner is Franz's son, Werner Brombach (from 2005).

Eggenberg Brewery is an Austrian brewery founded in 1681 by Michael Weismann when he bought the brewery from the Monastery of Kremsmuenster. Samichlaus (pronounced Sammy-Claws) was one of their strongest beers in the world, at 14% alcohol by volume. The name means Santa Claus in Swiss German. It was originally brewed by the Hürlimann Brewery in Zürich.

United Breweries is India's largest producer of beer with a market share of around 48% by volume.
The group is headed by Dr.Vijay Mallya who is also a member of the Indian Parliament. United Breweries now has greater than a 40% share of the Indian brewing market. Recently UB financed a takeover of the spirits business of the rival Shaw-Wallace company giving it a majority share of India's spirits business. The group owns the Mendocino Brewing Company in the United States.

Tsingtao Brewery (Chinese: 青島啤酒; pinyin: Qīngdǎo píjiǔ) is China's largest brewery. Founded in 1903 by German settlers, it claims about 12% of domestic market share. The beer is produced in Qingdao in Shandong province, but the name of the beer uses the old École française d'Extrême-Orient transliteration. The beer's present-day logo displays an image of Zhan Qiao, a famous pier on Qingdao's southern shore.
The brewery was founded in 1903 as the Germania-Brauerei [Germania Brewery] to brew beer in the German tradition mainly for Germans and other Westerners in China. In 1915 the brewery was taken over from the German owners and managers and until 1945 was under Japanese management (the Japanese confiscated all German holdings in Shandong during World War I).
After the defeat of Japan in World War II the Qingdao Brewery was turned into a Chinese brewery under the supervision of the Nationalist government in Nanjing. However, this period of ownership only lasted until 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded and the company became a state-owned enterprise.
The company was privatized in the early '90s and in 1993 merged with three other breweries in Qingdao and was finally renamed Tsingtao Brewery Company Limited. Today 27% of the company is owned by Anheuser-Busch. The company now owns several other breweries in China, some of which also produce Tsingtao Beer.

Ringnes is the largest brewer in Norway. It was founded in 1876 by brothers Amund and Ellef Ringnes (Amund was the brewer, Ellef the administrator and salesman) and financial director Axel Heiberg. The company's brewery in the Grünerløkka district of Oslo produced its first beer in 1877.
The company sponsored the polar expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Otto Sverdrup. During his exploration of the high Canadian Arctic in 1900, Sverdrup named three large islands after his sponsors (Axel Heiberg Island, Amund Ringnes Island, and Ellef Ringnes Island). The Geiberg Islands (Гейберга Острова) in the Russian Arctic were named after Axel Heiberg and "Ostrov Ringnes", Остров Рингнес, the largest island of the Mona group in the Kara Sea, has been named after this Norwegian brewery.

Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery (Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma) is a major brewery based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, founded in 1890. It is a subsidiary of FEMSA, the largest beverage company in Mexico.
The company operates brewing plants in Monterrey, Tecate, Navojoa, Guadalajara, Toluca, Orizaba and in 2010 one in Chihuahua, producing the Dos Equis, Sol, Bohemia, Superior, Carta Blanca, Noche Buena, Casta and Tecate brands among others. It has an annual production of 660 million liters (174.4 million US gallons)
The Cuauhtémoc brewery was founded in Monterrey in 1890 by José Calderón, Isaac Garza José A. Muguerza, Francisco G. Sada, Joseph M. Schnaider, Wilhelm Hasse, with capital of 150,000 pesos, starting with the Carta Blanca brand. Cuauhtémoc brewery produced its first beer barrel in 1893 and won first prize in the Chicago and Paris world fairs.

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company was established in 1979 by homebrewers Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi. Located in Chico, California, Sierra Nevada Brewing is one of the most popular craft breweries currently operating in the United States. Their Pale Ale is world renowned, and the brewery produces almost 700,000 barrels of beer per year. Their beer is consistently rated high in BeerAdvocate.com's Top 25 list, and has been featured on many television shows, including Friends and Sex in the City. The brewery recently opened "The Big Room", a live music venue located inside the brewery's facilities.

Kirin Brewery Company is a Japanese company. While best known as a brewery and maker of whiskey, Kirin also makes soft drinks, and has diversified businesses in foods, pharmaceuticals, logistics, engineering, real-estate and restaurants.
Longtime leader of the Japanese beer market, Kirin Brewery Company, Limited was overtaken in the early 2000s by its arch-rival, Asahi Breweries. Kirin nevertheless continues to sell two of the most popular beers in Japan, Kirin Lager (the country's oldest beer brand) and Ichiban Shibori. In the burgeoning happoshu (low-malt) category, Kirin Tanrei is the top seller. In addition, Kirin handles domestic distribution for several foreign brands, including Budweiser and Heineken. Kirin's brewery operations also extend overseas, through strategic alliances, subsidiaries, and affiliates, to China, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, Europe, and the United States. The company holds a 46 percent stake in Lion Nathan Limited, a consolidated subsidiary that is based in Australia but has particularly important operations in China. Kirin has also invested a 15 percent stake in San Miguel Corporation, the dominant brewer in the Philippines. With more than 100 years of experience in the brewing business, Kirin now applies its fermentation technology to areas such as plant genetics, pharmaceuticals, and bioengineering. Although brewing and related businesses remain the core of Kirin's activities, the company is also involved in several other sectors: hard liquor, wine, soft drinks, and food products.

Löwenbräu (German, løːvənbrɔʏ̯) is a brewery in Munich that produces a traditional Munich-style beer. Like other premium German beers, it is brewed according to the German “Reinheitsgebot” (Purity Law) dating back to 1516. Löwenbräu means "lion's brew". In Britain (rhotic dialects) it is ˈlɜːvənbrɔɪ, and in the US /ˈloʊənbraʊ/. In centuries past, the name "Löwenbräu" was fairly common and used by many brewers. The Löwenbrauerei Mayen was typical of this custom. In the end, many of the smaller breweries adopted more original names or went out of business entirely.

Its major product line is Pete's Wicked Ale, an American Brown Ale that is 5.3% alcohol by volume. The company was acquired by the Gambrinus Company in 1998, a corporation that primarily imports beers such as Corona from Mexico and Moosehead from Canada. In 2004, Pete's Brewing Company was number 42 in America for sales by volume.
Slosberg was one of the pioneers of the craft beer movement in America, along with others such as Jim Koch of Samuel Adams and Larry Bell of the Kalamazoo Brewing Company, now Bell's Brewery Inc. These upstart brewers committed to using all-malt recipes, and to highlighting the hoppy flavors in their beers. Their approach stands in contrast to the larger U.S. breweries, which commonly use adjuncts such as corn and rice and downplay the role of hop flavor and bitterness in their products.
The signature product has been largely responsible for establishing the American Brown Ale as a commercially viable beer style and category for beer competitions.

Krönleins Brewery (Appeltofftska Bryggeri AB) is a Swedish brewery founded in 1836 by Anders Julius Appeltofft in Halmstad, Sweden.
Krönleins Brewery was founded on February 15th 1836 when grocery businessman Anders Julius Appeltofft bought an old half-timbered hospital, or "curhuset", at Stora Torg in Halmstad, Sweden, and converted it into an office and a bar. The beer was brewed in the building next door. For the first ten years he made Svensköl, a traditional sweet, low alcohol Swedish beer. Today the house is a café and is in excellent condition due to a complete renovation in 2004.
In the beginning the business was quite modest. Every step in the production process was done manually. For instance the malt mill and the waterpump were worked manually which must have been very hard work. In 1849 new ground was bought, situated a couple of hundred meters from the brewery. On the new ground there was an old bastion from early 17th century, placed next to the old moat. The purpose of the bastion was to protect the town from enemies from the west - hence the name "Wester Katt". Remains of the old city defense wall can still be seen in Krönleins's Pub. The purchase of the ground had two purposes. An ice cellar was built and control was gained over the water supply. A malting for the production of malt was also built. Below the bastion was a well with spring water, where many citizens in Halmstad fetched their water. The water was of very high quality - pure with a fresh natural taste. It is from this well that Krönleins has taken its water since the start in 1836. If you use your imagination you can picture how the water was put into huge barrels and then taken by horse carriage through town.

The Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu GmbH is a traditional brewery in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It is owned by the Spaten-Löwenbräu-Gruppe which is part of the Belgian InBev-Group. Its products are beers of the brands Spaten and Franziskaner.
In the year 1397 the Welser Prew was alluded to for the first time in Munich. The ownership changed often until the brewery moved in the year 1854 to the location it still uses today. In the year 1867 it became the largest brewery in town. In 1909 the company started to deliver beer to North America. In 1922 the Spaten-Brauerei and Franziskaner-Leist-Bräu united to form a joint stock company. In 1924 the advertising slogan "Lass Dir raten, trinke Spaten" ("Let me advise you to drink Spaten") was invented. It is still in use until today. The brewery reached the production of 1 million hectoliters (21,996,925 gallons) in 1992. In 1997 the brewery united with the Löwenbräu AG to form the Spaten-Löwenbräu-Gruppe. The Spaten-Löwenbräu-Gruppe was sold to Interbrew in 2003. The company's immovables were separated into the SGI Seldmayr Grund und Immobilien. In 2004 Interbrew and the Brazilian Companhia de Bebidas das Américas (AmBev) united to form InBev. The brewhouse in the Marsstraße in Munich was closed due to a lack of workload in 2006. It is now the museum of the company.

Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. is the world's part of the largest global brewing company, Anheuser-Busch InBev. The company is based in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. "A-B", as the company is often called, operates 12 breweries in the United States and several others overseas.

Molson was Canada's largest alcoholic beverage brewer with sales of more than $2 billion CAD in 2003, and 3,800 employees working at five breweries. In February 2005, it merged with Coors to form Molson Coors Brewing Company. At the time of the merger, Molson controlled about 45% of the Canadian beer market and ties for first place with Labatt.
Founded in Montreal in 1786, Molson Canada is the second oldest brewery in North America and, to this day, continues to produce beer on the site of the original brewery. The company markets a number of the most popular brands of beer in Canada in addition to a portfolio of award-winning brands which include Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Molson Export, Molson Dry and Rickard’s. Through partnerships with other major brewers, Molson Canada also offers several world-renowned brands, including Heineken, Corona, Miller Genuine Draft, Foster's Lager and Tiger. Molson employs 3,000 people in Canada and operates six breweries in location across the country (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Moncton and St. John's), including Creemore boutique brewery in Ontario. Sapporo Breweries is a Japanese company that makes beer, headquartered in Ebisu, Tokyo.
The origins of Sapporo are in Sapporo, Hokkaido during the Meiji period, where the Hokkaido Development Commission (Kaitakushi) established many businesses. Seibei Nakagawa, a German-trained brewer, became the first brewmaster of the Kaitakushi Brewery in June 1876, and the first Sapporo Lager was produced at that time. Privatized in 1886, the Sapporo brewery became the centerpiece for the Sapporo Beer Company.
In 1887, another company, the Japan Beer Brewery Company was established in Mita, Meguro, Tokyo, and began producing Yebisu Beer. The competition between Sapporo and Japan Beer, as well as competition with the Osaka (now Asahi) and Kirin breweries led to a 1906 merger of Sapporo, Japan, and Osaka breweries into the Dai-Nippon Beer Company, Ltd., which formed a near monopoly on the Japanese market until after World War II.
After 1949, Dai-Nippon was split into Nippon and Asahi breweries, with the Nippon Breweries resuming production of Sapporo beer in 1956 and renaming itself to the present name, Sapporo Breweries, in 1964. Yebisu Beer was relaunched as a separate brand in 1971, marketed as a German-style barley beer. Sapporo Black Label beer was launched in 1977.
On July 1, 2003, Sapporo Breweries renamed Sapporo Holdings, Ltd. and became a pure holding company. Its brewing business operations were transferred to a newly established wholly-owned operating subsidiary "Sapporo Breweries Limited." Sapporo Holdings' major business units are Sapporo Breweries, Ltd. (beer, happoshu, wine, spirits, foods, etc.), Sapporo Beverage Co., Ltd. (soft drinks), Sapporo Lion, Ltd. (restaurants) and Yebisu Garden Place Co., Ltd. (real estate).

Carlsberg is the 5th largest brewery group in the world, present in about 50 countries and employing around 31,000 people. The company's headquarters are in Valby, Denmark. The company's main brand is Carlsberg Beer, but it also brews Tuborg as well as local beers. The company was founded in 1847 by J. C. Jacobsen.

The brewery was founded in 1896, and was purchased by its current owner, Frederick Louis Maytag III, in 1965, saving it from closure. It moved to its current location in 1979. It is one of the last remaining breweries to produce California Common beer, also known as Steam Beer, a trademark owned by the company.
Anchor Brewery is largely responsible for the growth of the microbrewery movement in the United States. After prohibition ended in the U.S., many small, locally-operated breweries were able to re-open and recommence brewing (although many more, perhaps most, were not). The vast majority of these concerns served only the immediate vicinity of their sole plant, a radius of a few miles to perhaps a 100 or so. Local breweries and beers were the source of local pride in many communities, especially those with large populations of German, Polish, or Czech extraction. Many of these thrived on through World War II and into the 1950s. Most did not survive the 1950s, however, due to the influence of television advertising and the mass marketing tactics of major national breweries such as Anheuser-Busch, Schlitz, Pabst, and Miller. The whole idea of such beers and breweries was largely forgotten in the U.S. Maytag desired to establish such a small-scale brewery, with small-town quality and taste being the hallmarks of his beer. He was already a fan of Anchor Steam Beer when he learned that the brewery was about to close. In 1965, Maytag purchased 51 percent of the brewery for a few thousand dollars, and later purchased the brewery outright.

Molson Coors Brewing Company was created by the merger of two of North America's largest breweries: Coors of the United States and Molson of Canada, on February 9, 2005. The Canadian subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Company is a part-owner of Brewers Retail Inc., operator of Ontario's The Beer Store retail chain. According to the Molson Coors website, MCBC is the fifth-largest brewer by volume with 48.3 million hectolitres or 41.2 million barrels sold in 2005.

Best known for Pabst Blue Ribbon beer (4.9% alcohol), it is historically associated with Milwaukee, Wisconsin where it was founded, although its corporate headquarters are currently in Woodridge, Illinois. In 1999, the Pabst Brewing Company began transferring its production to Miller Brewing on a contract basis. In 2001, it closed its last brewery in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Efes Beverage Group was founded in Turkey in 1969, and today consists of 14 breweries in Turkey, Russia, the CIS countries and Southeast Europe. The company is named after the ancient city of Ephesus (Turkish "Efes") located near the Izmir brewery. Efes Beverage Group, a subsidiary of Anadolu Group, is the largest producer of beer in Turkey with approximately 80% of the market share. Their flagship product, Efes Pilsen gets its unique taste from rice added into the ingredients at brewing stage. Żywiec Brewery is a Polish brewery. Before WWII it belonged to the Habsburg family and was based in Żywiec in Silesia. Eventually, it was acquired by Heineken Brewery.
They produce several types of beer, including Żywiec Porter a Baltic porter.

The Brasserie Dubuisson Frères, translated into English as Dubuisson Brothers Brewery, is a Belgian family brewery who is better known for brewing one of the strongest beers in Belgium, the Bush ambrée at 12% ABV. Founded in 1769 by farmer Joseph Leroy, the brewery only sold its beer to the workers in the farm and to the inhabitantes of the town of Pipaix where the brewery was installed.

Hoegaarden Brewery (pronounced /huːɡaː(ɹ).dən/) was founded by Pierre Celis in Hoegaarden in Flanders, Belgium. Celis revived the witbier (white beer, see wheat beer) tradition in 1966 when he created a beer with the traditional ingredients of water, yeast, wheat, hops, coriander and dried Curaçao orange peel. After a fire in 1988, the brewery was bought by Interbrew and is now owned by InBev.

Westmalle Brewery (Brouwerij der Trappisten van Westmalle) is a Belgian trappist brewery located in the abbey of Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van het Heilig Hart ("Our Lady of the Sacred Heart") in Westmalle, Belgium. It produces three trappist beers:
- Westmalle Dubbel, a 7% ABV Dubbel.
- Westmalle Tripel, a 9.5% ABV Tripel.
- Westmalle Extra, a 5% ABV Belgian Pale Ale, only available at the monastery.
The abbey also produces milk and cheese.

The Westvleteren Brewery (Brouwerij Westvleteren) is a Belgian brewery founded in 1838 inside the Trappist Abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in the Belgian municipality of Westvleteren, not far from the hops-producing town of Poperinge. The bottles have been sold without labels since 1945. All of the legally required information is printed on the crown tops.

The Kompania Piwowarska S.A. company was established in 1999 as a result of merger of two Polish breweries, Lech Browary Wielkopolski S.A. and Browary Tyskie Górny Śląsk SA. The strategic investor of the company was the international brewing holding South African Breweries International (now SABMiller), which purchased a majority share in the 2 breweries in 1995-1996.

The Saris Brewery (Slovak: Pivovar Šariš) is the largest brewery in Slovakia, located in Veľký Šariš near Prešov. The brewery is a member of global brewing giant SABMiller (since 1997). Saris Brewery was founded in 1964. The first litres of Šariš beer were brewed on May 26, 1967.

The Columbia Brewery, located in Creston, British Columbia, was once a part of the Fort Steele Brewery. In 1974, Columbia Brewing Company was purchased by the Labatt Brewing Company. The brewery is best-known for Kokanee beer, a light Pilsner-style beer 5.0% v/v.

Bières de Chimay is a Belgian trappist brewery and cheese maker. The brewery is located inside the abbey Notre-Dame de Scourmont, in the Belgian municipality of Chimay. It produces four trappist beers and four cheeses.

Baltika Brewery is the largest brewery in Eastern Europe and the second-largest brewery in Europe (after Heineken Brewery). It is based in Saint Petersburg, Russia and began production in 1990. The majority of the company's shares (85%) are owned by Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH), which is a subsidiary of Carlsberg Group.
Baltika has eighteen breweries, eleven of which are located in Russia: two in Saint Petersburg and one each in Khabarovsk, Tula, Rostov-na-Donu, Samara, Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk. Their combined output totals 2,400,000 kl (630,000,000 US gal)%s%s per year. Along with the Baltika plants, the BBH consortium operates ten smaller breweries producing its Yarpivo, Pikra and Vena brands.

The Spoetzl Brewery began in 1909 in Shiner, Texas as the Shiner Brewing Association, and is the oldest independent brewery in Texas. In 1914 a German immigrant brewer named Kosmos Spoetzl co-leased the association with Oswald Petzold with an option to buy in 1915. Spoetzl's beer proved popular with the large German and Czech immigrant population in the Texas Hill Country. During prohibition, the brewery stayed afloat by selling ice and "near beer," allowing it to remain in business while many other breweries failed.
The brewery, now the fourth-largest craft brewery in the United States, produces beers under the name "Shiner." The flagship and most popular beer is "Shiner Bock", a dark German lager which comprises about three quarters of the brewery's production. Shiner has gained a loyal following in America and especially in central Texas, possibly due in part to the fact that the Spoetzl Brewery often donates several kegs of the beer for free consumption at many popular events in the Texas Hill Country, including San Antonio and Austin. The brewery has a prominent tent at and is a sponsor of Austin's yearly Texas Craft Brewers Festival.
