Pompey is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France.
Population (2012): 4,888. It is an industrial town (mainly steel industry), situated at the confluence of the rivers Moselle and Meurthe.
Astronomy
Minor planet 18636 Villedepompey is named after the town.[1]
