A photo slideshow software is a computer software application used to display a range of digital photos, images and videos in a predefined order. In most cases the output file is a standard video file or an executable file which contains all the sound and images for display.

Typical features

A Slideshow application includes some major functions: image editing (including enhancement, cropping, rotating), transition and Ken Burns Effects, background music soundtrack,and other information ex. name, date etc. narration and captions.

Output

Output files are normally to DVD (MPEG-2) or CD-ROM but some applications allow for encoding to formats supported by cell phones (3GP), gaming devices (MP4), Linux, Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh.
