Phil Waldrep[1] (born 1960) is an ordained Southern Baptist minister,[2] speaker and author that leads one of the largest religious conference ministries in the United States.

A native of Alabama, Waldrep began speaking at age 14 in rural Baptist churches in Alabama. By the time of his high school graduation at 16, he was in demand as a public speaker. In 1980 he formed a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Phil Waldrep Evangelistic Association,[3] to "share the gospel by all means, traditional and nontraditional." In 1984, the organization started sponsoring church youth camps that drew hundreds of church groups each year. This led to the Connect Conference for church youth groups to attend in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

In 1992, the organization expanded the retreats to include retreats for women, men, and senior adults. Women of Joy,[4] Gridiron Men,[5] and Celebrators,[6] the mature believer conference, draw attendance in excess of 15,000 people in cities such as Branson, Missouri; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Louisville, Kentucky, San Antonio, Texas and Birmingham, Alabama.

Among a number of family and parenting topics he has addressed, Waldrep has written and spoken on the subject of children who rebel against their parents, the so-called prodigal child. His work on this subject appeared on the nationally syndicated radio program, FamilyLife Today on October 27–29, 2004. His revised edition of "Reaching Your Prodigal" will be published in February 2016.
