Osman Khalid Butt is a Pakistani actor, director, journalist, choreographer and writer. He is best known for his role in Aik Nayee Cinderella aired on Geo TV, and Aunn Zara aired on A-Plus Entertainment, both of which rank among the highest rated Pakistani serial. His latest works include Goya that was aired on ARY Digital, and Diyar-e-Dil, the blockbuster serial that was aired on Hum TV in 2015, for which he received massive appreciation. His character Wali Sohaib Khan was praised widely, Butt also won in the Best Actor category in a poll conducted by Dawn on "Best of Pakistani TV in 2015" for his portrayal of the angry young man, Wali Sohaib Khan. The same paper also titled him and actress Maya Ali (who played Faarah, his wife in the serial), as "Jodi No 1". Butt was also widely praised for his role of Aunn in Aunn Zara (2013), which earned him a nomination for Best Drama Actor at Pakistan Media Awards.His onscreen chemistry with the actress Maya Ali, whom he has played a number of roles with, has led to him getting a chance to be a showstopper along with her in TBCW 2015, and FPW 2015 for Maria. Personal life
Butt was born in Islamabad, Pakistan on 9 February 1986. He is the youngest son of television actor, director and screenwriter Dr. Khalid Said Butt. He has one brother Omar Khalid Butt and one sister Michelle Tania Butt.
Career
He went to FAST-NU Islamabad for TeleCom Engineering.He Spent Four Semester, Then he Started his Career in Industry.He make his Debut in a Successful drama "Aik Nayee Cinderella" Which was Aired On Geo TV. He is dubbed the Pakistani Orlando Bloom[1] by his increasing number of fans and has played supporting roles in two films, Zibahkhana[2] and Slackistan.[3] Slackistan is an independent movie directed by London-based filmmaker, Hammad Khan, in which he played the role of Saad. Slackistan has not been released in Pakistan due to objections raised by Central Board of Film Censors. In 2012, he acted in a television serial Aik Nayee Cinderella on Geo TV which proved tenth highest-rated Pakistani television series. In 2013, he starred as Aunn in A-Plus Entertainment's critically lauded Aunn Zara (fifth highest-rated Pakistani television series, for which he was nominated at 4th Pakistan Media Awards in the category of Best Drama Actor. He has recently portrayed an excellent role in a hum TV drama serial called Diyar-e-dil. The family serial drama "Diyar-e-dil" was also the third time he acted alongside his fellow co-star from Aik Nayee Cinderella and Aunn Zara, Maya Ali.
He is also the co-founder, creative lead and poetry editor at Desi Writers Lounge,[4] an online, 24/7, 365 days a year writers' workshop and community, that aims to showcase new voices in South Asian writing through their biannual publication, 'Papercuts'.[5] Currently he is working as a screenwriter for upcoming comedy-drama film Janan starring Armeena Khan, the film is produced by Hareem Farooq, Reham Khan and directed by Azfar Jafri. This is a second collaboration between Khalid, Farooq and Jaafri having previously worked on Siyaah.[6]
