Newsy is a millennial-focused video news outlet with original reporting on the world's biggest stories. Its content is available across more than 100 platforms, including over-the-top content (OTT) platforms, social, and mobile.

The company, acquired by The E.W. Scripps Company, was founded by Jim Spencer, who was early to predict the popularity of online video news.[1] The company is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri and partners with the Missouri School of Journalism. In 2015, it opened bureaus in Chicago and Washington, D.C. with the mission of expanding Newsy's original reporting.

Newsy has helped pioneer interactive video journalism, with projects recognized by the Online News Association[2], SxSW[3], Digiday[4], the Webbys[5], and the Radio Television Digital News Association.

Its mobile applications have also been widely recognized. Readwrite reported how Newsy's iPad app changed the nature of journalism on the device.[6] Newsy won the 2011 Appy Award beating out CNN and Flipboard in the 'News' category.[7]
