Never Wave at a WAC is a 1953 comedy film directed by Norman Z. McLeod, and starring Rosalind Russell and Paul Douglas.[2]

Plot

A divorced socialite and daughter - Jo McBain (Rosalind Russelll) - of a United States senator - Andrew McBain (Paul Douglas (actor)) - would like to join her boyfriend, who just left for Paris with two other military comrades, where he has been transferred. Talking with her father he has the idea that she could engage with the army getting her an officer's commission in the Women's Army Corps, so that she can be near her officer boyfriend and be transferred to Paris through it. Of course he sells her the story telling her, she would start as a General. Her wealthy and spoiled manners are crushed immediately, when arriving to basic training camp she is told that she would have to start from the bottom. Her father was involved in the teleohone-chain of people taking the decision. Both her boyfriend and her ex-husband himself in charge in the military camp where she is, enjoy spitefully her change of character proceeding with the military drill given her. She ends up as in typical screwball-comedies as a changed woman, that isn't any more above male power, instead through them in their power. And acting as if she likes it too.
