"Never Had a Dream Come True" is a song by British pop group S Club 7, released as a single on 27 November 2000. It was chosen to be the official 2000 BBC Children in Need song.[1] The single peaked at the top of the UK Singles Chart,[2] becoming Britain's ninth best-selling single of 2000.[3] Internationally, it peaked within the top ten of the charts in the Republic of Ireland, Sweden and was their only charting song in the US, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] After its success, it was added to a re-release of the band's second album, 7.

The song was certified Platinum in the UK in 2013 for sales of 600,000.[4]

Content

The song is about the aftermath of a break-up. The protagonist says that even though she might date other people, she will always have love for her former boyfriend. Jo O'Meara sings the lead vocals for the song while the rest of the members are in supporting vocals.

Jo also sings the song as a solo in S Club 7's film Seeing Double.

This was S Club 7's only single to chart in the United States. It also charted at #61 of the 2001 year end charts in the US.
