The Mysore Outer Ring Road is a 42.5-kilometer (26.4 mi) long Ring road within the South Indian city of Mysore. It is being upgraded from two-lane to six-lane along the Western crescent and four-lane to six-lane along the Easter crescent by the Mysore Urban Development Authority,[1] at a cost of ₹ 347 crore,[2] in four packages.[3] The road was originally to be widened to eight lanes, but was reduced to six in order to free up funds for building a missing link along the road.[4] Most of the road was opened in 2012.[5] There are four railway bridges over the course of the road.[6]
Toll
In 2013, the MUDA proposed to impose toll on the road and charge extra cess from people who owned land around the road in order to raise revenue for future development citing lack of funds.[7][8]
