Montenegro participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their entry was chosen through an internal selection, organised by the Montenegrin broadcaster Radio televizija Crne Gore (RTCG). Sergej Ćetković represented Montenegro with the song "Moj svijet", which he wrote himself together with Emina Sandal. The entry qualified from the first semi-final and competed in the final.[1] This was Montenegro's first qualification to the final since their debut in the contest in 2007. Montenegro placed 19th in the final, earning 37 points.

Internal selection
RTCG confirmed Montenegro's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 on 25 September 2013.[2] On 19 November 2013, RTCG held a press conference where they presented Sergej Ćetković as the internally selected representative for Montenegro.[1] At the press conference, Ćetković stated that his main goal would be to take Montenegro to the final.[3] Ćetković had stated early in 2013 that he was contacted by RTCG to represent Montenegro in the previous year's contest, however, due to time constraints he was not able to commit to the proposal.[4] Ćetković previously attempted to represent Serbia and Montenegro at the contest in 2004 placing eighth in their national final with the song "Ne mogu da ti oprostim".
Sergej Ćetković recorded two versions of the Montenegrin entry: the Montenegrin version "Moj svijet" (My world) and the English version "My Love".[5] At the contest, Ćetković performed the Montenegrin language version of the entry.[6] The song was composed by Ćetković himself in collaboration with Emina Sandal (lyricist of the Montenegrin version), Biljana Marković (lyricist of the English version), Vladan Popović and Marko Milatović.[7] The presentation of the entry took place on 9 March 2014 at the Hotel Splendid in Bečići, hosted by Sabrija Vulić.[8][9] The show featured the presentation of the music video for the song which was directed by Aleksandar Kerekeš.
At Eurovision
During the semi-final allocation draw on 20 January 2014 at the Copenhagen City Hall, Montenegro was drawn to compete in the second half of the first semi-final on 6 May 2014.[10] In the first semi-final, the producers of the show decided that Montenegro would perform 15th, following Netherlands and preceding Hungary.[11] Montenegro qualified from the first semi-final and competed in the final on 10 May 2014. During the winner's press conference for the first semi-final qualifiers, Montenegro was allocated to compete in the first half of the final.[12] Their qualification marked the first time that Montenegro has qualified to the final since their debut in the contest in 2007. In the final, the producers of the show decided that Montenegro would perform 8th, following Armenia and preceding Poland.[13] Montenegro placed 19th in the final, scoring 37 points.
At the contest, Sergej Ćetković was joined on stage by figure skater Jovana Stanisavljević and three backing vocalists: Ivana Cabraja, Martina Majerle and Dragan Brnas.[14][15] Martina Majerle previously represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
The Montenegrin spokesperson revealing the result of the Montenegrin vote in the final was Tijana Mišković.[16]
