Martin Andanar (born August 21, 1974) is a Filipino TV news anchor, radio commentator, podcaster, audio blogger and voice-over artist working for TV5. He is the head of News5 Everywhere, the online news video and audio portal of Tv5. He currently anchors Aksyon sa Umaga on Tv5 and Punto Asintado Radio Show on Radyo5 92.3 News FM and AksyonTV, sister stations of TV5. He is also a voice-over talent of News5, AksyonTV, and Radyo5 92.3 News FM. He studied at the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, Georgetown University, Northern Illinois University, Asian Institute of Management, National University of Singapore and Federation University Australia. Early life
Martin Andanar is currently a Media Executive and News Anchorman of Tv5. He hosts the following Tv5 news programs; Punto Asintado (Radyo 5 & Aksyon TV) and Aksyon sa Umaga (Tv5 Morning Show) and Crime Klasik on Aksyon TV. He is also the official voice over of all News5 platforms.
Martin’s Tv5 management role focuses on developing and championing pioneering projects. Among the projects he developed and currently heads are 1. News 5 Everywhere, the first Filipino Online News TV and Radio Everywhere in the Philippines 2. News5 Kontrabando Online Tabloid and 3. News5.com.ph Online Newspaper.
As a Community Worker, he founded Sons of Surigao Youth in 2006. Sons Of Surigao Youth’s core programs include: Books for Siargao, a program that sets up children’s libraries in poor barangays in Siargao Island and Youth Leaders for Democracy Seminars, a module that teaches poor communities the importance of volunteerism and good governance to communities. SOS youth has established 36 libraries since 2006.
In 2010, Martin founded “Move My Muntinlupa”, a civic organization that advocates volunteerism, ethical leadership and good governance in Muntinlupa City. MMM works closely with Kaya Natin Movement, a good governance organization.
Martin’s social work won him a US State Department “civic participation leadership training” scholarship at the Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, Illinois last May 26-June 28, 2008.
As a broadcaster, one of his advocacies is citizen empowerment through Internet citizen journalism. In September 2009, he gathered like-minded people, convinced his TV boss and AIM classmate and developed www.presidenteko.com (defunct), a 2010 presidential website that listens to the voices and opinions of Internet citizen journalists.
Martin finished his Master in Entrepreneurship with honors at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila and completed college at the Federation University Australia in Ballarat, Australia.
On June 2009, he joined social entrepreneurs from all over the world at Georgetown University in Washington DC for an intensive scholarship on Non Profit Management at the Center for Public and Non Profit Leadership.
He completed his Senior Executive Fellows Program at the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University on March 2010.
Martin also completed the prestigious Communications for Public Policy Executive Course at the Lee kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore in 2015.
In his downtime he manages podcast.ph and audio.ph an independent podcast production and audio blog Martin initiated. Martin also host's his own podcast show called Martin's Mancave on http://podcast.ph.
