Mădălina Diana Ghenea (Romanian pronunciation: [mədəˈlina diˈana ˈɡene̯a]; born 8 August 1988) is a Romanian actress and model.[4]

Career

Ghenea started her career in modelling when she was 15 years old, and started presenting for the designer Gattinoni in Milan, Italy. She has participated in fashion shows in Romania, Italy, Germany, Japan, Austria, Spain, France and South Africa. She has appeared in several advertisements including Peroni, New Yorker and Quelle.[5]

After being selected for the international calendar along with two other models from MRA agency, Catrinel Menghia and Carmen Prodan, Ghenea appeared in a video for Eros Ramazzotti's album "The New Best" of Eros Ramazzotti – Il tempo tra di noi". Ghenea has attracted the Romanian media's attention with the release of "Il tempo tra di noi" video song, where she appeared as the girlfriend of the singer.[6]

In 2010, Ghenea appeared on the television programme Ballando con le stelle, her partner becoming Simone Di Pasquale. Since 2011, she has been the image of TRE-Italy mobile company, and has appeared in a commercial with Raoul Bova. Also in the same year she became the image of dance clothing DEHA and vintage racing cars Mille Miglia.

In 2011, she made her debut actress in the role of Irina, in the Italian film I soliti idioti and in 2013 she appeared in Dom Hemingway alongside Jude Law.[4] In 2015, she appeared as Miss Universe in Paolo Sorrentino's drama film Youth. She co-hosted and supported Carlo Conti for the 2016 edition of Sanremo Music Festival.[7][8]

Personal life

Ghenea is fluent in Romanian, Italian and English.[9]

She has joined the organisation "Artists for Peace and Justice" for Haiti relief. In Romania she donated money for the renovation of the Maternity section of the main hospital in her hometown Slatina.[10][11]

Political views

Ghenea stated on Instagram: "Ceausescu was leading a regime, but everyone had something to eat and there wasn't, like now, the abyss between poor and rich".[12][13]
