'Lone Echo' is a first-person virtual reality action-adventure game developed by Ready At Dawn Studios and published by Oculus Studios. It includes a multi-player component, 'Echo Arena', which was also made available as a stand-alone game. The game is notable for its unique locomotion mechanics, which involve grabbing and pushing off of the environment.

Story

Players control ECHO-1, a service android stationed on a mining facility orbiting Saturn. ECHO-1 (or "Jack") serves as support and companion to Captain Olivia Rhodes, the station's sole human. An anomaly appears and Jack and Olivia investigate to solve the mystery.

Gameplay

Lone Echo's gameplay centers on exploration and problem solving. Of particular note is the game's method of locomotion, which allows players to grab and push off the environment, and float through space, as well as navigate using thrusters. This technique reduces virtual reality sickness, without compromising immersion. Gameplay centers on using tools to solve puzzles, rather than combat.

Echo Arena

A multi-player component, Echo Arena was developed alongside the title, and included with its release, but was also made available as a stand-alone release. As the result of a partnership with intel, Echo Arnea was offered for free to anyone who redeemed it within the first three months of its launch.

Echo Arena is a 3v3 sports game, based around the locomotion mechanics of Lone Echo. Players compete in an arena to grab a flying disc and throw it through the enemy's goal. Players can grab onto other players, and punch opposing players in the head to stun them, making it a full-contact sport.
