Kohavision (KTV) is a Kosovan television broadcaster, and part of KOHA group. Kohavision began broadcasting in September 2000, shortly after the Kosovo War ended. The news is very important sector, with Koha e Lajmeve, being the most watched in the country.
Programmes
Kohavision is one of the most watched television channel in Kosovo and it has some famous programmes, like Oxygen Show, SOT (the morning show), Hajt Pak, Tre Gjermanët e trashë, SpitaliKS, Talent X, Express and many other American and Latin soap-operas like Will and Grace, Only fools and horses, 'Allo 'Allo!, Rebelde Way etc. It also aired the famous American sit-com, Everybody Hates Chris, and UK's Footballers Wives, Behaving Badly & Out of Practice. As of 30 August 2008, KTV started broadcasting for the first time Spanish La Liga, and as usually it is broadcasting Serie A. The weekends full of European football are part of the newest show Prej 2 deri 12 (from 2 to 12). Other programs include: Euro - dedicated to economy (Mondays from 08:00 PM); Pulsi - dedicated to health (Tuesdays from 08:00 PM); Anima - dedicated to women (Tuesdays 08:30 PM); Cosmo - Weekly magazine (Wednesdays 08:00 PM); 038 - a show dedicated to Kosovo's capital, Pristina (Wednesdays 08:30 PM); Top Koha Music (Wednesdays 10:00 PM); Rubikon - political show (Thursdays 08:00 PM); the debate show Konfront (Fridays 10:00 PM); During the weekend and as part of "2 to 12", there are shows like Automan - the show for cars; Fauna Jone - dedicated for pets; 1 Moto per Foto - where the famous guests tell their life in photos; Ca ka '3? - dedicated to youth; Pikepresje, which debates social issues etc. More recently, in September 2009 Kohavision started the airing of iNTERAKTIV, which sums up the daily politics, sports and culture. A guest is included, it also has the Ooops! section, in which public figures are caught in weird situation, and viewers send their photos and videos as part of Koha. iNTERAKTIV is aired from Monday to Friday from 11:00 PM. It is one of the most watched shows in the country.
History
Kohavision was first broadcast in 2000. Since then, it has been very popular, and not just in Kosovo, but also in Albania and Albanian-speaking population of Macedonia and Montenegro. It has been developed while Veton Surroi led it. Now, Veton Surroi it's a former owner of KTV, and his sister Flaka Surroi took over as managing director. KOHA is known for owning the most read and number one newspaper in Kosovo Koha Ditore. It has all began by a 2-hour programme per day, but now it is a 24/7 programme, and KOHA is a leading media house in Kosovo.
