Kesineni Srinivas is an Indian business executive and a politician.[1] Since 1992, He heads the Kesineni Travels Private Limited, founded by his grand father, Kesineni Venkaiah in 1928. Kesineni is one of the largest provider of Inter-City bus transportation, serving more than 75 destinations with about 425 schedules daily across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.[2]

The New Delhi based Birla Institute of Management and Technology has chosen Kesineni Travels for study of its successful business model in the country.[3] Kesineni Cargo Carriers offers value-priced overnight parcel delivery to all its destinations.[4] The company is involved in philanthropic activities and blood donation camps.[5] In 2009, He served as the Praja Rajyam Party urban unit convenor.[6] He won the Indian general election, 2014 as a Telugu Desam Party candidate. He was elected the member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Vijayawada (Lok Sabha constituency), Andhra Pradesh.[7]

Personal life

Kesineni was born on 2 Jan 1966 to Shri Ramaswamy Kesineni and Smt. Prasunamba Kesineni. He married Smt. Pavani Kesineni on 16 Apr 1992 and they have two daughters. He believes in keeping up new technological innovations and adopting them for achieving better results; and Socializing with people from different back grounds and also trying to know about the latest trends in various sectors.[8]

Political career

Kesineni was elected to 16th Lok Sabha. At the Lok Sabha he is a member of the Committee on Privileges; Standing Committee on Urban Development and the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation.[8]

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the efforts of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas under the Samsad Adarsh Gram Yojana when he met him at New Delhi on Wednesday. The MP explained to the PM about his adopting Golla-mandala Village in A.Konduru mandal in Vijayawada parliamentary constituency and the plan he chalked out for the all-round development of that village. Mr Srinivas also informed the PM that due to his efforts and his meeting with Mr Ratan Tata, the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust came forward to adopt all the remaining 264 villages in the Vijayawada parliamentary constituency and take steps for their development.[9]
