Kay Brown (full name Dolores Kay Brown; 2 July 1933 – 2 January 2022) was an American singer[1][2][3] who recorded for Mercury and Decca in the 1950s.[15]

She notably acted in the 1951 movie The Strip[2] and sang the song "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" in it.[16]

Personal life

In the early 1950s she notably dated Mickey Rooney.[17]

Brown was married to bandleader Maynard Ferguson for two years in the 1950s.[2][18] In the early 1970s, she married Brent Lyon Wood.[2]
